Counselling is a broad heading covering many types of therapy.
I qualified as an Integrative Psychotherapist in 2014 with Distinction.
"Integrative Therapy is a unifying approach that brings together physiological (body), affective (emotional), cognitive (mind), contextual (life circumstances) and behavioural (how you act) systems, creating a multi-dimensional relational framework that can be created anew for each individual case".
'Integrative Therapy - 100 key points and techniques' - Maria Gilbert and Vanja Orlans
I chose integrative psychotherapy because it embraces all of what you bring to our relationship. My job is to work with you in a person-centred and relational way that honours your uniqueness. I believe that you are the expert on how best to live your life and my role is to help you achieve this. We agree a contract which we regularly review to maintain momentum and purpose. I abide by the BACP professional and ethical codes of conduct including monthly supervision to account for how I’m working with clients. I work with anxiety, depression, illness, grief, trauma (including childhood) and life crises.
I WOULD BE HAPPY TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS YOU HAVE ABOUT COUNSELLING
